Nature Reserve in Doussard
Next to the public beach of Doussard (a few minutes walk from the campsite) you can discover a nature reserve ideal for hiking with the family. It is a beautiful walking loop of about 3 km, accessible for children and also for people with reduced mobility. The walk is fun thanks to many explanatory panels with a beautiful viewpoint from the Beauvivier tower.
The land is a wetland of rivers and reed beds where you can observe many types of birds. If you are lucky you can see beavers, as the reserve is a natural habitat for beavers and their lodges.
Dogs are prohibited in the nature reserve.

Roc de Chère
This is a walk that is very well suited to children. You start the hike from Roc de Chère d'Echarvines and reach the belvedere which offers a great view of the lake and the Duingt castle. Remember to bring a picnic.
The path is wide in the forest and ideal for your children to take their first steps on the hiking trails. It is difficult to imagine that until the end of the 19th century, the Roc de Chère was cultivated and grazed and that the forest was almost non-existent.

Angon Waterfall
This impressive waterfall is 60 meters high. From the path to get there, you have magnificent views of the lake. Some parts of the path that arrive at the waterfall are very slippery, avoid going there in the rain or just after showers. Wear good shoes and walk carefully, hold your children's hands.

There is a small car park located after the bridge towards Angon, at the exit of Talloires (medium difficulty, 400 m of elevation gain). The path climbs a lot at the beginning then becomes flat when leaving the forest. Allow a good two hours of walking to get there.
The shortest (when you are with small children) is from the small car park at the top; follow the waterfall signs towards the forest and the fairy bridge.

Plateau de Beauregard
It is ideal for a beautiful family walk. Departure from the Col de la Croix Fry, you will enjoy the magnificent panoramas of the Aravis chain and the Mont Blanc massif.
This hilly site is home to well-preserved flora and fauna, it is classified Natura 2000.
In summer you can see herds of cows. Don't hesitate to stop at one of the local Reblochon producers.

La Semnoz
Get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the fantastic views out over the region by taking a trip to the Semnoz plateau,  all just a stone's throw from Annecy. This 16 km long mountain is located in the heart of the Bauges Massif Regional Nature Park, southwest of Annecy.
This mountain, whose summit, the Crêt du Châtillon, peaks at 1,702 metres high, is full of gentle hiking trails, each more beautiful than the last.
The Mont-Blanc, Tournette, the Bauges and the Aravis, the peaks and massifs visible from this side of the lake are breathtaking. On a clear day you can also see the 3 surrounding lakes, the Bourget in Aix, the Léman and of course Annecy.

And because we don't only nourish ourselves on fresh air and beautiful vistas, the Semnoz allows you to combine your walks with gastronomy: many farms and dairies are located not far from the trails for you to discover the star cheeses of this corner of Haute-Savoie, first and foremost the famous Reblochon.

Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval
Located a little further (1:45 hrs) from the campsite, this is a walk not to be missed. The Cirque de Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval is classified as a major site in France. It is a nature reserve and the largest Alpine mountain cirque.

In June, more than 30 waterfalls, some of which are fed by glaciers, gush from its cliffs 500 to 700 meters high. It is a breathtaking spectacle.
The walk goes to the ‘End of the World’ (Bout du Monde) and is quite easy to do. Access to the Bout du Monde cave, which concludes the outward journey, requires some effort due to a significant difference in altitude, but remains accessible to most people. The reward is great, with an extraordinary panorama on arrival!

Dogs are only allowed part of the way, please verify the website.

A little advice

Whatever your hike, remember to take in your backpack: cereal bars, enough water, sunglasses, sunscreen, a small first aid kit, as well as clothes adapted to your outing according to the season and the forecast weather.

Before starting your hike, find out about the weather conditions. Do not hesitate to turn back if the conditions deteriorate, in the mountains you have to know when to give up!
