There are restaurants around the lake where you can indulge in some well-known cheese-based Savoyard specialities featuring quality local produce, even in August if you feel like it! Dishes such as raclette, tartiflette, Savoyard fondue, crozets or Savoyard pan-fried potatoes, ham and cheese.


 At the Col de la Forclaz, with magnificent views over the lake, there are three restaurants that can satisfy your cheese cravings:


* Le Balcon du Lac: located at 1157m this restaurant offers an exceptional view of the lake
* Le Chalet de la Pricaz: a restaurant that has to be discovered, as much for the view it offers from the terrace over the lake, as for its dishes.
* La Ferme: an unmissable address with the dining room that overlooks the stable.

• In Annecy itself, the one traditional restaurant that all the locals recommend is "Le Freti", a great address in the old town. Since 1974 they have been preparing fondues with cheese matured on site but also tartiflette and croziflette.
• A nice welcoming little restaurant under the arcades is "La Cabane", where the chef offers typical mountain dishes but also other fish or vegetarian dishes In a warm setting where you are sure to have a good time.
• For those who prefer fish there is the restaurant "Les Tilleuls" in Saint-Jorioz. This family establishment since 1972 is a haven of peace and offers you hearty and rich cuisine, Savoyard dishes, traditional recipes and fish freshly caught in Lake Annecy, 100% local.
